The Indigenous Health team can offer support to Northern Health leaders and staff in a range of ways, including:

Development and/or review of strategies, plans, policies, presentations and resources to ensure inclusiveness and considerations for Indigenous cultural safety

Participation on committees and working groups to ensure inclusiveness and considerations for Indigenous cultural safety

Identify and develop resources and tools to support NH in being a culturally safe organization

Provide Northern Health employees and others with training and mentoring related to cultural safety and humility

Identify and develop resources and tools to support NH staff in providing quality, culturally safe care for Indigenous Peoples, families, and communities

Provide Northern Health employees and other with training and mentoring related to cultural safety and humility

Facilitate engagement with Indigenous individuals and organizations

Distribute relevant information and opportunities to Indigenous communities through Aboriginal Health Improvement Committee distribution lists
